Student Life

Learning happens everywhere, not just in the classroom. At Hope Academy, students have room to explore their interests and cultivate talents, all while learning skills they will need in high school and beyond.

Sports

Our middle school athletics program gives students the opportunity to grow as leaders, teammates, and competitors both on and off the field. Our coed learning league provides a safe and supportive way for students to experience and try a variety of sports. Sports offered include cross country, flag football, soccer, volleyball, basketball, and cheer.

Outdoor Education

Our faith-rooted outdoor learning program invites K–4 students into hands-on exploration through nature, art, play, and seasonal activities. Designed to encourage curiosity, confidence, and healthy risk-taking, this experience helps students build meaningful connections with peers, their community, and God’s creation.

NEST

The NEST is Hope Academy’s onsite afterschool program for students in grades K–5, held from 3:10–6:00 PM. Students are released directly into the care of Hope Academy staff for a safe and smooth transition after school. The program offers enriching activities and clubs such as dance, art, and STEAM, along with time for play, learning, and connection.
Nurturing and Safe Environment. Educational Extension. Something Fun! Time to Play.

High School Readiness Program

We partner with other nonprofit organizations in Greensboro to ensure our 8th grade students and their families have the tools and support needed to successfully transition to high school. From navigating the high school application process to building healthy social and peer relationships, these partnerships provide guidance, resources, and confidence as students step into their next chapter.

Our Belief About Children

God's Story

We believe every child is an important part of God’s story right now, not someday. We invite them to discover who they are in Christ and how their learning and relationships reflect His greater story.

Learning

We believe all children are capable of learning and growing. Through high-quality instruction and individualized support, we meet students where they are and support them as they make meaningful progress.

Parent of Hope Academy Student

“Hope Academy has helped me with my grades by having a smaller class size, which allowed teachers to have one-on-ones with me. Hope has helped me enjoy learning and made me more confident in the quality of my work. Now, I can go into high school with confidence.”

Hope Academy Alumni

“Every teacher my grandson has had has gone above and beyond in supporting and encouraging him. Other staff members have also shown incredible support, and for that, I am deeply grateful.”

Grandparent of Hope Academy Student

“I absolutely love the Outdoor Ed class with Ms. Gabby. My daughter gets to nurture her gift and passion for art and creativity. I also truly enjoy chapel and watching the children worship—it’s such a beautiful experience.”
